About Transformational Coaching
-
Transformational Life Coaching offers dedicated time and space to reflect on the issues that matter most in your life. New insights and ways of thinking are generated through active listening, reflection, and curious questioning, leading to truly transformational change. While many coaches train in a single coaching model, Transformational Life Coaching is versatile, drawing together a range of approaches—from Person-Centred and Positive Psychology to Neuroscience, Solution-Focused coaching, and more. This flexibility allows me to adapt in the moment, staying focused on my client’s needs rather than their own agenda.
-
Coaching sessions are tailored to your needs—there’s no “one-size-fits-all” in the Transformational Life Coaching approach. Standard sessions last 60-minutes and begin with us exploring what you’d like to focus on and why it matters to you. Some clients prefer 90-minute sessions. I’m happy to create a personalised coaching programme to suit your needs.
-
My Clarity and Journey options include personalised coaching resources to help you continue your thinking between sessions. These are entirely optional and designed to help you get the most from your coaching experience.
-
Absolutely. Please get in touch to discuss your needs, and I’d be very happy to explore a personalised programme of coaching.
Professional Background and Boundaries
-
No. While my background is in healthcare, I do not offer health-specific coaching. Transformational Life Coaching takes a holistic approach, and health-related topics may arise naturally as part of exploring where you are in your life.
I’m always happy to explore this with you within a coaching context. However, although I am a doctor, I am not your doctor, and I’m therefore unable to provide medical advice.
-
No. While my background is in healthcare, I coach clients from a wide range of professions. Take a look at my testimonials to see some of the people I’ve worked with.
-
To ensure strict professional boundaries, model the highest standards of GMC professionalism, and avoid any conflict of interest, I maintain a clear dividing line between my educational/NHS work and my private coaching practice. Consequently, I am strictly unable to accept coaching clients who fall into the following groups:
Anyone registered as a patient at an NHS practice or clinic where I work (even if you have never been under my direct clinical care).
Current or past medical students or trainees whom I teach, supervise, or assess within my Medical Education roles.
Anyone I have a professional relationship with through my non-clinical NHS roles—including current or past GP appraisees, professional mentees, or close NHS colleagues.
If we have a current or historical connection through any of my clinical, teaching, or appraisal roles, I cannot take you on as a private coaching client. This policy is designed to protect your privacy, ensure complete objectivity in our coaching relationship, and maintain absolute professional integrity. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please feel free to ask, and I will gladly signpost you to alternative coaching resources. You can read my full policy here - Conflict of Interest Statement
Practicalities and Getting Started
-
During your Discovery Call, we take time to explore what you’re looking for from coaching and whether we’re a good fit to work together. I’ll answer any questions you have and explain how coaching with me works.
-
At present, I work exclusively online. I’ve found that virtual sessions offer flexibility and accessibility for busy professionals, while still providing the same depth and quality of conversation.
If this changes in the future, I’ll share details here.
