Conflict of Interest & Professional Boundaries Statement
Kirsty Murdoch Coaching
As a coach, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. Given that my background includes working within healthcare and medical training, I maintain a clear boundary between my professional clinical/educational roles and my private coaching practice, Kirsty Murdoch Coaching.
To ensure objective professional boundaries, uphold GMC standards of professionalism, and prevent any potential conflict of interest, I am strictly unable to accept coaching clients who fall into any of the following categories:
Patients Registered at My Workplaces: Anyone who is currently (or has previously been) registered as a patient at any NHS practice(s) or clinic(s) where I work, regardless of whether you have been under my direct clinical care.
Medical Students & Trainees: Any medical students or doctors-in-training whom I currently teach, assess, or supervise, or have previously taught within my Medical Education roles.
Professional Mentees & Appraisees: Any GP or healthcare professional whom I currently appraise, or have previously appraised, within my GP Appraiser role, as well as anyone I have come into contact with via my NHS professional mentoring roles.
Current or Past NHS Colleagues: Team members, peers, or close colleagues with whom I currently work directly, or have previously worked with in a close professional capacity within the NHS.
What this means for prospective clients:
If you are registered at an NHS practice where I work, or if we have an existing or historical connection through my clinical, educational, appraisal, mentoring, or wider NHS roles, I am unable to accept you as a private coaching client.
This policy is in place to protect your privacy, ensure the complete objectivity of the coaching relationship, and maintain strict professional compliance.
If you book a Discovery Call and it becomes apparent that a current or past connection exists under these criteria, I will unfortunately not be able to proceed with our sessions. Where appropriate, I will do my best to signpost you to alternative coaching resources.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping me maintain safe, ethical, and professional boundaries for all parties.
